We are commanded to forgive.

We are commanded to forgive.

If you forgive those who sin against you, your Heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.

For I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.
— Matt. 6:14,15; Phil. 4:13

Think it through

  1. God has gifted us with forgiveness and has commanded us to forgive others.
  2. Who gives us the strength to forgive?
  3. Are you struggling to forgive someone?  How can accountability with another Christian help encourage you to forgive?

Almighty God.  Thank you for the gift of forgiveness.  Without you doing this through me it would be impossible for me to always forgive.   Please let me see the value of this act of forgiveness.  Your Word is very strong on this subject.  Let me see that it is for my good that you hold me accountable to forgive.  Thank you so much for forgiving me.  Your blood has washed me white as snow and clothed me in your robe of righteousness.  I am in right standing with God because of Your forgiveness.
